Goosebumps Premiere Screening!

Forgive the spacey-ness, I'm still trying to play catch-up from the last few weeks. And, hey, it's my blog, I can do what I want!
Goosebumps continues to treat me well and I'm honestly still reeling from the latest (and, for now, the last) adventure...

The film was put together very quickly in relation to the first Goosebumps movie, so rather than a red-carpet premiere a few weeks before the film was officially released, a special screening was put together for the cast, crew, press, studio employees and their families. I was also brought in for some press appearances and a few publicity shoots, but the screening was to be the main focus of my travels!

The schedule of events just so happened to work out (funny isn't it?) that Audrey and I could fly in early to spend a few days in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks. We had an awesome time getting to play in another Disney playground for a while.Of course we had to Disney Bound on both days... Disney's always worth dressing up for!  I documented the experience the best that I could, but it was really nice getting to just enjoy the ride. There may be some content to come from the trip in the near future, but until then you can follow us on our Disney-Themed Instagram account Double A Disney!

17 days until I get to marry her.

Our special Goosebumps screening took place on Sunday, October 7th, at the Sony Studios lot, a few sound stages away from where classic films like The Wizard of Oz were filmed. Slappy had a great set-up on stage while a full-scale Halloween carnival was taking place. Slappy was a special meet-and-greet and photo-op for the kids (and kids alike). This meant that I was hidden and contorted underneath a table and a few dozen hay bales, for a few hours, watching everything on a television monitor. Ah, the life of a puppeteer...

Not that I have any complaints at all, it's always cool when I- ahem, Slappy gets treated like the star he thinks he is. I (he) even got to do some press interviews this time around!
Obviously Audrey was there as well, playing Gopher and keeping me sane while looking beautiful as ever in her custom Goosebumps dress she made just a few nights before we left for this whirlwind journey.

It was a legitimately fun time, though I am still finding hay everywhere... And it was very nice getting to see the cast, and some of the crew, again. Nothing but wonderful things to say about all the talented people involved who got this film out into the world, concept to screen, in just TEN MONTHS! I'm absolutely flattered to have been asked to play a part in this awesome event, AND to finally got to put my eyes on the movie (SPOILER ALERT: It is fantastic!)

Also, Audrey is amazing and I don't know what I would do without her.

The next day was full of press appearances, Facebook live streams, a very talkative limo driver, and a flight back into reality.

More (very) soon,
Avery
